We decided to go to Vegas, yes again, for the long weekend.  I was really excited to have a different kind of Vegas trip with just Sean and I.  It would be our first time to Vegas just the two of us!  It was even more fun than I imagined... lots of great food, gambling, shopping, a show... jam packed goodness! :)

Our first stop after we got in on Saturday morning was to downtown at the Cal hotel. We went to my favorite little joint that has all kinds of Local food.... Sean had a loco moco.

i debated back and forth and back and forth, but in the end I went with my usual- korean chicken--- so ono!!!

After our yummy meal at the Cal, we did some gambling, then checked into the Venetian. I was excited for my first time staying there, as my uncle was the architect but it is one of the only hotels I've never stayed at before! So we took a little nap then we were ready for our favorite meal!

HIKARI time!! This is our all time favorite place to go... it's the best sushi and deal in town since it's all you can eat! Mom's Aloha friends discovered this place years ago when they would take trips to Vegas- and ever since the first time my parents took us here we were in love... we always can't wait for our next trip to Vegas so we can come back!

the only bummer was the oysters...while they were still good, they weren't GREAT like they usually are... I think at times we have had a dozen or more each-- but this time we just shared one. I think there wasn't enough ponzu perhaps?

now that was a good meal :)
The next morning we went to our other favorite stomping grounds...the Bellagio buffet.  The line is always ridiculously long every weekend, and for good reason.  The food is fantastic!  And it's a great deal too... we have a little trick we use, but I can't share it with the world, sorry! ;)  After a quick wait, we were ready to eat ourselves into a food coma again...

my first plate I filled up... I know, a weird assortment...waffle, prime rib, eggs benedict, sushi, some kind of ceviche and bacon!!!

the buchon kiosk was right outside our tower at the venetian. I had heard their macarons were TDF so I had to have one for myself. I got the coffee flavored one and oh boy, was it yummy!

we saw 'jersey' boys and it was soooo good! I really, really enjoyed it... it was surprising how many of the songs we knew! Definitely a must see!

One of the great things about Vegas is that the clubs are open late, and the food places are open even later!!! You have so many options for drunk eating after you go out and I just love that! My favorite has to be Grand Lux Cafe. Since there is one at the Palazzo and Venetian, it was even more perfect... Potato Spring Rolls are the BESTTTT!!!!

we were feeling a bit hungover, but it was time to check out... Sean, being the amazing hubby that he is, let me sleep in while he got up and returned our rental car and switched into another one that we could drive back to LA... HE IS THE BEST. We then decided to grab some food before we started our drive back... found an all you can eat sushi place closer to the strip and figured we might as well try it and see if it's any good...

Everything was just really, really OK.... the price was average, but for the few dollars extra, hikari is a world of difference.  It's worth the extra 10 minute drive for sure.  Not to mention the service was pretty horrible...there were only 3-5 other people in the restaurant the whole time, but each piece took forever to come out.  Not to mention, they charged an automatic 18% gratuity for parties of 2 or more... it's pretty sad when you have to do that.  I
